A magical journey

Accessible Immersive Performance

《Harry Potter》 is a globally renowned series of bestselling books that accompanied us during our childhood. The subsequent series of movies and games showcased a rich world of magic, providing abundant material and possibilities for creating an immersive experience. Through our interactive stage, the audience can step into the enchanting world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, experiencing it firsthand and learning magic alongside the protagonist while uncovering secrets. Our plan to create an immersive interactive stage aims to evoke memories and emotions in the audience, enhancing the resonance and impact of the event.

The project is an Accessible Immersive Performance set in the magical world of Harry Potter. The story takes place at Hogwarts, and we've crafted a series of magical skills based on the original storyline. Participants can step into the role of students and experience the learning of various magical spells firsthand.

Dark Arts Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA), abbreviated as DADA, is a course at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this class, students learn various aspects of defending against dark magic, including dark creatures, curses, hexes, jinxes, and the Unforgivable Curses, as well as dueling techniques.

-- The performance consists of three stages: Introduction to the story background/Learning magic scenes/Free practice of magic. Our team has designed 12 different scenes with a continuous storyline, and I am responsible for the interactive arrangement and storyboard design of the entire storyline, as well as coding for three specific scenes.

Outcome

This scene aims to recreate the plot from the novel where the protagonist learns the levitation spell in class. To ensure participants deeply engage, I devised a mechanism: utilizing microphone input to trigger the feather's floating motion. Additionally, for mobile users, I created a unique interactive experience: waving the phone in different directions generates distinct spellcasting sound effects, further heightening the immersive feel.

The Guardian Scene, I incorporated mouse interaction to underscore the link between visuals and participant actions, enhancing both engagement and authenticity., users can generate various spellcasting sound effects, further enhancing the immersive sensation.

Related GAI Visual Ideas

This was an engaging coding experiment. At that time, I reassembled these visual materials by borrowing drawings or photographs from others and combining them using Photoshop to create scenes. With the rise of GAI now, it might offer even more possibilities for enhancing visuals.
