Exhibition & UI design
This project aims to enhance the interactive experience of the "Ancient Chinese Food Culture Exhibition" at the National Museum of China. To achieve this, I have designed an immersive exhibition space and interactive games. Through a series of context-rich games, visitors are guided to simulate historical dining practices, enabling them to deeply appreciate the charm of Chinese culture.
Background
Currently, with the continuous integration of technology and creativity, an increasing number of cultural institutions, art galleries, and technology companies are leveraging advanced technological methods to create immersive exhibition experiences in order to attract more visitors. While most immersive galleries rely on holographic projection technology to showcase pre-edited artworks, my project attempts to transform visitors from passive spectators to active participants through interactive games. I aim to turn them into game protagonists and explorers, enabling them to discover and immerse themselves in the charm of different cultures. The entire gallery will shift from a simple looped playback machine to an exploratory storytelling experience.
Exhibition hall
In designing the venue layout, I drew inspiration from traditional Chinese culture, including concepts like yin and yang, the five elements, and the eight trigrams. I opted for a symmetrical arrangement and ingeniously concealed the interactive table within the exhibit to maintain an element of surprise for visitors. The projected outcome can be modeled after the successful projection used in a similar event in 2012.
Interactive game
Finally, based on the visitors' game choices, they will experience different storylines and receive small gifts related to food, such as a packet of tea or scented sachets with hints of wine. These small gifts serve as positive psychological incentives for the participants and, at the same time, provide them with impressions beyond just visual and auditory experiences.

I believe that the highly interactive immersive exhibition hall in the future will be an important way of cultural inheritance and dissemination.
